A game-changing pathway for post-16 

Forty per cent of the young people who are referred to TMS list gaming as their number one interest. While the hobby provides a vital escape for young adults who struggle to make sense of mainstream education in a neurotypical world, it can lead to withdrawal from the challenges of day-to-day life, making social interaction problematic. 

Brand new for 2026, we’ve created a groundbreaking programme for 16 to 18-year-olds with an interest in gaming – many of whom are neurodivergent, highly introverted and struggle with anxiety.

Building teamwork through gaming

TMS Gaming provides personalised mentoring, education and support for young people with a passion for gaming. 

This innovative programme is the first of its kind in Gloucestershire and the south west. It offers young adults the chance to work towards a Level 2 Diploma in eSports and a Level 3 Extended Diploma in eSports while having fun with the hobby they love. 

Providing a fresh new post-16 pathway for young adults, TMS Gaming offers a unique combination of one-to-one mentoring and small group education in a safe and welcoming setting based at Pillar and Lucy House in Gloucester Docks.

Complete with state-of-the-art gaming computers, supportive education zone, quiet spaces, chill-out room and healthy breakfast options, TMS Gaming will support two cohorts of ten young adults in 2026.

Students work towards a Level 2/3 in eSports and a Preparation for Adulthood (PfA) qualification, including English and maths, PSHE and AQA/ASDAN awards – all while growing in confidence, developing vital life skills, improving communication and creating a clear path to further education or a career in computing.
