Creating positive futures for young people in Gloucestershire
Mainstream education doesn’t work for everyone. Many children and young adults struggle with traditional schooling and need a special kind of support, empathy and understanding to fulfill their potential.
Since 2017, Taylored Mentoring Services (TMS) has helped thousands of young people in Gloucestershire to believe in themselves, to achieve their goals and to create a brighter future.
Our personalised packages of mentoring training and support make a genuine difference – encouraging young people to grow in confidence, develop new skills and thrive.
Who we help
Many of the young people we work with are neurodivergent. Most have EHCPs. Some have been excluded from school – others have diagnosed difficulties. They all have one thing in common: they need support and guidance to achieve their goals.
Based in a safe, nurturing environment in Kingsholm, Gloucester, we help children and young adults feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
Our friendly team deliver re-engagement activities – both one-to-one and in small groups – that help them develop the self-belief, social skills, resilience and independence needed for adulthood.

Sessions provide a safe, supportive environment in which children and young adults can share their thoughts, feelings, opinions and experiences.
Building trust
One-to-one mentoring builds trust, develops self-belief and supports personal growth – providing the skills needed to succeed in life.
Providing valuable skills for life
Weekly small group sessions focus on improving social skills and interaction, communication, accountability and decision-making.
Creating post-16 pathways
Our post-16 provision – TMS Sports 16+, TMS Outdoors 16+ and TMS Gaming 16+ – gives young people clear pathways to further education or brilliant careers they can be proud of.
TMS offered a bespoke package of support to suit the needs of the young person who needed an alternative part-time provision. They ensured they were fully prepared to meet the needs of this young person by meeting with the team/family around the young person beforehand and their communication during the period of support was excellent.

For over 12 months, TMS and ourselves have worked closely to provide alternative education for the young people that are placed with us. The young people often have been out of education for an extremely long period and through this difficulty TMS work tirelessly in encouraging them to engage and seek to have positive outcomes for all the young people involved. They are extremely professional in their approach and also have great times with the kids..!!!!!! I would have no hesitation in recommending them to other providers..!!!

Working with Lou and Bev, changed my life, in fact it saved my life. At first I was stubborn, worried and scared to let them in my home, but they earnt my trust and most importantly my children’s. Their words will live with me for life and the most important ones that I remember daily are ‘that you can’t fake love’. Can I take this opportunity to provide some feedback. During the time you have been supporting this family, TMS have provided an excellent service. Visits have been regular and consistently in accordance with the needs of the LA/family. The diary sheets are detailed, accurate and provided in a timely way. A representative has attended every support review meeting and highlighted straight away any safeguarding concerns. Your service has been significant in supporting us to accurately assess the needs of the family and decide on a longer-term plan for the children.
